A former Senior HMRC Solicitor's Office (SOLs) Officer and fully trained tax solicitor with over 10 years of extensive experience in Corporate tax, complex tax litigation for HMRC, specialising in VAT and Corporation Tax cases. 

 

Trained in corporate tax and fully trained tax solicitor with 9 years extensive experience dealing with complex tax cases and litigation for HMRC, specialising in Corporation Tax, R&D, VAT and Tax credits cases. 

 

Comfort has experience in Alternative Disputes Resolution (ADR) and Appeals to both Tribunal and Solicitors Office and Legal Services(SOLs). She brings into all that she does years of skills, knowledge and a determination to find the best solutions for our clients.

A former HMRC officer and Front-Line Manager, with over 40 years' experience, as compliance enquiry case worker, specialising in Self-assessment business and corporate tax. 

    

A former operational specialist with extensive experience in compliance case working, technical guidance and case worker/investigator development. His work supported discussions and development on improved oversight of R&D agent activity.

 

He also played a key role in developing new investigators through structured training and mentoring. Delivering enquiry and case working training as a Business Learning Manager on HMRC’s flagship Tax Specialist Programme and later providing technical support and developmental oversight within compliance teams.

 

Brian has an active operational experience in enquiries, training and input in compliance in R&D business unit.

The head of our VAT team contains a former senior HMRC VAT officer with experience in VAT policy and a background with the National Crime Agency and National Government.  

 

Our head of the International Tax Team is an expert in European tax, specialising in Polish and German company tax, with extensive expertise in transfer pricing, and is capable of providing the related advisory services.
